In 2022, we are very excited to announce the launch of our first ever art prize in collaboration with The Hari Hotel. An incredible cash donation of £10,000 will be awarded to the finalist.
The prize is now open for applications until 20th June 2022, building on the art programme curated by A Space for Art for the hotel over the past 6 years.
The award will be open to all applicants who are self-taught or have graduated in the last two years (2020-2022) from UK art colleges from 4 April until 20 June 2022.
A shortlist of artists will be chosen by A Space For Art and our elite panel of judges overseen by Dr. Aron Harilela, CEO and Chairman of Harilela Hotels Ltd. Artwork from the shortlisted artists will be showcased at the hotel in an exclusive exhibition from 1 September 2022 until February 2023.
We are delighed to announce the judges for the Hari Art Prize are as follows:

Melissa Digby-Bell (Head of Curatorial for A Space for Art)
Gavin Turk (Artist)
Matthew Burrows (Artist and Founder of Artist Support Pledge)
Liz Gilmore (Director of Hastings Contemporary)
Irene Bradbury (Senior Director of White Cube)
The three finalists will be announced at a VIP award event at The Hari in London on 17 November 2022. The overall winner will be awarded with an incredible £10,000 cash grant, generously donated by Dr. Aron Harilela. The two runners up will receive the opportunity to become the next Artists in Residence based at The Hari from January to February 2023, followed by an exhibition of their work at the London hotel. All three finalists will have their work exhibited at The Hari’s newest hotel in Hong Kong.
A Space for Art are delighted to launch this art prize in collaboration with the Hari to celebrate the global roster of artistic talent attracted to London.
How to Apply
The award will be open to all applicants who are self-taught or have graduated in the last three years (2020-2022) from UK art colleges. The minimum age to apply is 18 years old. Artworks need to be located in the UK.
To apply, simply send us an email to hariartprize@aspaceforart.com with the following:
- 4 high-res JPEG images of your artworks (please label each image with your name and artwork title).
- Details of your artwork (Title, Date, Medium, Size - maximum artwork size approx 350 x 200 cm).
- A maximum 250 word statement about your practice.
- Your personal biography.
Please also include your basic contact information:
Full name, email address, phone number and home address.
