An Exposition of Damien Hirst: Damien Hirst

Overview
Damien Hirst is a British artist and a leading figure in the Young British Artists (YBA) movement, known for his provocative and conceptual work exploring themes of life, death, and commercialism.

His most famous pieces include The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living (a shark preserved in formaldehyde) and For the Love of God (a diamond-encrusted skull). He frequently uses preserved animals, medicine cabinets, and spot paintings to challenge traditional art forms. In 2008, he made history by bypassing galleries and auctioning his work directly at Sotheby’s, earning £111 million. Hirst remains one of the world's wealthiest living artists, blending fine art, business, and controversy throughout his career.
